Academics and Fraternity Life
Over the past decade, ΑΤΩ Beta Delta has consistently held one of the highest grade point averages among fraternities at The University of Alabama, including having top grades of any IFC fraternity in the Fall of 2018, Spring of 2019, Fall of 2019, Spring of 2020, Fall of 2020 and the Spring of 2021.We have been successful in creating an environment where academic success is expected, and it starts with our pledge program which stresses the priority of academic achievement and self improvement. We have a fraternity of well-rounded young men who place a premium on academics yet also have a balance of athletics, social functions, campus involvement, and community service. One of our alumni, the CEO of an industry leading corporation, recently said, “The fraternity provides an environment for maturation that is not available in any other area in the collegiate experience.”
Alumni
We have an active group of alumni who lead by example that ΑΤΩ is for a lifetime. Our members don’t experience ΑΤΩ for four years and move on; we are connected for life through the principles that are the foundation of Alpha Tau Omega — truth, honor, leadership, achievement and service. We refer to the overall ΑΤΩ experience, past, present and future, as “The Perpetual Chapter.” Active chapter members, pledges, and alumni build and sustain our fraternity every day. ΑΤΩ Beta Delta has a Board of Trustees comprised of 12 alumni and one faculty member. The Board meets each month in Tuscaloosa to advise and mentor the chapter. Individual Board of Trustee members also serve on committees, such as pledge education, chapter finances, rush, alumni relations, judicial, and furniture and furnishings. We also have a House Corporation comprised of five alumni who meet on a quarterly basis. Each year we have chapter/alumni social functions, and publish a newsletter twice a year with both undergraduate and alumni articles. For those alumni who have reached the silver (25 years) and gold (50 year) anniversaries of their membership in ΑΤΩ, an impressive certificate is mailed to them by our national fraternity. We had our inaugural alumni Hall of Honor class in 2010 and intend to honor 3-5 alumni each spring to forever recognize them for bringing a special distinction to our fraternity, The University of Alabama, our state, and nation.
We also have an alumni association, and will be glad to answer any questions about our fraternity. The association can be contacted at ΑΤΩ Alumni, P.O. Box 660722, Birmingham, AL 35266, or at [email protected].

House Director
Our house director, Miss Sue, plans meals, organizes game-day festivities, and supervises our kitchen and steward staff. Miss Sue always has a smile on her face and does a wonderful job of keeping the house operational and providing a “home away from home” atmosphere for the guys in the chapter. Miss Sue keeps the house decorated with flowers or with a festive arrangement depicting the season of the year. We serve three meals a day, Monday through Thursday, and two meals, breakfast and lunch, on Friday. On football Saturdays in the fall, we have a pre-game lunch at the house when the Crimson Tide plays home games, for chapter members, dates, moms, dads, sisters, brothers, rushees, friends and alumni and their families.
